Walden Israel contributes to a number of local charitable causes, a few of which are listed below. We encourage our employees to contribute to the organizations of their choice and match their monetary contributions.

Tmura

Tmura - The Israeli Public Service Venture Fund is a non-profit organization, an “amuta,” established by leading Israeli venture capital funds to involve the high-tech sector in supporting charitable activities. The model is simple: early-stage companies give Tmura a warrant, convertible (at exit) into a small portion of their equity. If the company succeeds, Tmura sells its shares and donates the proceeds to charities in Israel; the focus is on education and youth-related activities, and the companies can indicate which organizations they want to support.

Walden, as well as several other leading venture capital funds, support Tmura's activities and encourage portfolio companies to make an equity donation to Tmura.  For more information, please contact Tmura Executive Director, Baruch Lipner at  baruch@tmura.org.

An important and vital part of a child's recovery and rehabilitation is in helping him/her to return to a routine lifestyle and meet school requirements. Experience has shown that as a result of the program, the children participating benefit significantly and make substantial accomplishments in their studies, making it easier for them to cope with the disease and difficult treatments - giving them a better chance for recovery.

Shabtai Levi Orphanage

The Shabtai Levi Children's Home serves as a Residential Facility as well as an Emergency Center. It shelters 60 children aged from infancy to seven years, whose parents are unable to raise them. All placements are initiated by welfare officials, and most are backed by court orders. All the children have prior histories of severe neglect, abuse, or both. They are generally born with the potential for normal development, but they have been affected by early traumatic experiences and now require special care.

The aim of Shabtai Levi Children’s Home aim is to rehabilitate these children by providing warmth, individual attention, a suitable quality of life and professional treatment addressing the children’s particular needs, helping most of the children to rejoin the mainstream.
